What is  B.E.S.T. ?

A Legacy of Achievement

B.E.S.T. (Bringing Everyone’s Strengths Together) began in 1997 as a grassroots, multi-sector, leadership coalition that represents the adjoining Lake County villages of Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, Round Lake Park, and Hainesville, Illinois.

B.E.S.T. incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1999 and is a unique collaboration of schools, social services, law enforcement, public library, park district, various village officials and fire department personnel, civic, business, religious leaders, parents, and students.  The major purpose of B.E.S.T. is to advocate for services, programs, and resources that will improve the quality of life for area residents.  Members have a stake in the critical issues facing the Round Lake Area and in the success of their collaborative efforts in the work of the coalition members.

Communication within a community is necessary to bringing a vision to a reality.  Members brainstorm on a monthly basis to find new ways of providing positive opportunities for the Round Lake Area.

The  C H A R A C T E R  C O U N T S !  Initiative is a subcommittee of B.E.S.T. and area villages and school districts are nationally recognized partners in the goal of character development of the area’s youth.

B.E.S.T. is for and about you.  All are invited to join in and participate.  Please click on the links on the left side of this page for more information and feel free to join us at our monthly meeting on the second Thursday of each month at 8:30 am at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center.
