B.E.S.T. RECOGNITION OF THE BEST!

As pastor of the Round Lake Community Church for the last 20 years, Reverend Tom Curry has welcomed many new residents to the area and has sought to make their transition to their new lives easier. He has been a long time and active member of the BEST Coalition. Through the years, Tom’s focus has always been on improving the image of and opportunities for Round Lake area youths and families. His ability to see all sides of an issue or challenge at hand has helped BEST members to make good decisions by truly bringing everyone’s strengths together. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that Rev. Curry is the first recipient of the Best of the Best Recognition Award.

In life there are many transitions. How we choose to make those transitions reflect what is truly in our hearts. Now the time has come for Tom to accept a transition that commits his time, talent and treasures far away from our community. His strength and determination to help others led to the start of Hope Homes in India, which serves those children who have no one else to rely upon. Tom has shared the story of these children with BEST in a way that bridges the miles between India and Round Lake, Illinois.

Tom’s support and encouragement to residents, community leaders and his church will be missed. And when we think of India, we will think of him, his work and what he did for our community.
